Ashford Art and Design College ARP - April 2013

OK, so this one has been quite a while in the making. The old Art and Design College is probably the most prominent abandoned building in Ashford and back in September I had a scout about and climbed the building, looking for a way in to no avail. After mentioning this on 28 Days Later One Flew East mentioned that he thought that there was a bomb shelter in the grounds somewhere. A few weeks later I went on a hunt for it, which, after an hour proved fruitless. However, that evening I did some more online research and realised that I'd been standing pretty much on top of the entrance. I didn't get another chance to have a look again until last night. I visited with the bare essentials (camera, tripod, P7, no other accessories) in tennis attire.

A note to anyone wishing to visit this - entrance is sketchy and not for the overweight. Exercise caution.

Amsterdam Trip - April 2013

At the start of April we went to Amsterdam for an eels gig. These photos show some of the results.

Article in Kentish Express - April 2013

About six weeks ago I was contacted by a journalist from the Kentish Express who had found my blog reports on Ashdown Court (here and here) whilst looking for photos for a story. A homeless man had been living inside it, and he wished to use my photos to show what conditions were like inside. There was some confusion with my email, so they didn't run the photos with that story. However, they ended up running an article on my explores there instead. Here's the article, which George's dad scanned for George to see, and who has forwarded it to me. The quality isn't too great, but you get the jist.

Thank you to those two, James Scott, and the Kentish Express for giving me some exposure and the ability to now say that I'm a published photographer.

St Joseph's Missionary College, Mill Hill, London - April 2013

Saturday saw a return to several things for me, exploring away from Kent, exploring with Starlight, and my first time back in Leicester for the first time since June 2010. The big 28 Days Later meet was in Leicester on Saturday evening, so Starlight and I headed up from Ashford, stopping off at St Joseph's on the way as it wasn't too far from the M1. For the last few months it seems like every man and his dog have done this place, so it would be rude not to pop in.

Thanks to GAJ, BHG, and PCW for all supplying me with the same map within two minutes of each other.

Bybrook Infants School Revisit - March 2013

First off apologies for my terrible lack of posts over the last two months. Life has been extremely frantic, frenetic, factitious, occasionally fun, and most often fatiguing. So after three weekends in London, a beer festival, two eels gigs, a trip to Amsterdam, and a run up to the Peak District out of the way with only a trip to Leicester at the weekend to go, it feels like I'm starting to return to normality. I've also passed 5000 views by quite some distance, so thank you very much to all who have read, and keep reading.
